BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office was called to a shooting scene on Thursday, June 6.
Baton Rouge emergency medical services said the coroner was contacted after a reported shooting around 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot in the 1900 block of Boulevard De Province.
Baton Rouge Police Department Chief Thomas Morse Jr. said the shooting resulted from a dispute between a male victim and suspect.
BRPD said Sarantis Thomas, 22, was shot outside on the stairs by the parking lot. Thomas died from his injuries at the scene.
The suspect fled the scene and is still at large.
