Getting too many writing ideas, not enough time to write themall…
Where I could buy more hours to add in the day? How I try to manage when new ideas are stopping or ruining writing current WIP. Here are writing tips what I found useful.
When inspiration gives you “wrong” inspiration
I think this is what every writer goes through more that just once. They are writing one thing but their mind is giving new ideas for completely different ideas.I have really bad case of that time to time. And it makes me hate my mind.Especially when I try to focus on one story. But there is coming all these new ideas everything else not for the current one I’m trying to write at the moment.
I should be focused on the writing last chapter of book 1 of my 6-part murder mystery romance. That chapter is so difficult to write. I do now have little idea how to completely rewrite entire chapter. But I need to print out the version it is now see is there anything worth saving.
But instead my mind giving me ideas for my book. It is giving me hundred new ideas for everything else. Mind is getting everywhere else but into my book. I really want to finish it but I am stuck with the last chapter.

Secret project (not revealing the nameyet)
Writing my secret project is going well. I have written thousands and thousands words for that. I am super inspirate to write them and it is going well. I have several all finished but I want more articles fully ready so I can just post them and continue writing the rest.
Why I think my writing this is going so well, there are lot of things I have wanted to speak about. But I haven’t been able to speak about them. Now for the first time I am freely able to speak about lot of things I have had to keep a secret. There are few things that I have never talked about anyone. And now I have way to speak but keep some anonymity about it all.
Writing some of it has been healing already. That did surprise me because I did not think writing about this topic would be or could be healing. Or that I would be need healing. But apparently it is. Getting things out of my chest I don’t want to carry anymore.
I have so much still unwritten and I am constantly coming up new topics I want to write about. That keeps me super busy. It was meant to be just 1 article. But now it has been growing and growing. And it is not out for people to read but it is growing.
With it I have one problem and that is what platform? It was originally meant for Medium. But this blog has kept me so busy that my Medium page has been left to background for now. I could add those here on another new category. But I have been thinking about making another wordpress site for it. To have it all separately. There is still lot of writing to do and things figure out.
Then there is this blog
I enjoy writing here so much. And have few very lovely people here already. Seeing their likes and comments is always makes my day. Also those daily writing prompts do get me out of my typical topics. Easy way to try writing about different things. When it is just going to be one blog post nothing more. Give my mind focus writing something else just little while.
Especially since I write so dark and heavy on my fictional stories and poetry. And there is heavy topics the secret project as well. Because there is lot of focus on a dark side of something. All that I will keep secret for now. But I think that is something that will be out later in this year.
Top of that I have now three new storyideas
New Idea 1 was Obsessed
It was the new story idea number 1. And I have written so far backstory and plot line. This was dream I had and started to write down the dream down after I woke up. Writing down a dream went little bit wrong. But I wrote blog post about it in my Journey of Rose Blog Back in August 2023 read everything about Obsessed HERE That right after I had starting to write down notes about the dream and it turned into story instead.
So this one will be a dark love story. If the working title is called Obsessed. It is almost certain that the love story is dark. It has been interesting and writing something different than murder mystery romance what I usually write. And write totally different point of view. Also it is escape from writing my secret project. Empty my mind on the project thoughts.
New Idea2
This one is blamed fully on my friend and one video she send to me. Now I have main male character inspiration for Cowboy romance story.
Yes Cowboy romance. That doesn’t sound like me at all. And what I thought would be my next writing story genre was dark fantasy and supernatural. Now I have a idea for Cowboy romance.
But knowing me it would be end up murder mystery as well. I did not choose mystery. Mystery choose me.
New Story Idea3
Inspirate by dream I saw while back. And I could make little dark romance love triangle story out of it. There was lot of potential to make a love story and try little bit different type of love story. Maybe go little darker than what my love stories has been so far.
Those are the latest new story ideas
The two other ideas that I have had in my mind the idea 3 is what has my mind little bit more. It is something I would like to jump into but I will not. I will instead focus on Obsessed and the Prequel for Obsessed. That Prequel was born from small side plot from main story. And I could not tell her full story. So that is why writing the Prequel and putting on the wattpad and own WordPress as well.
I try my best to focus on both Obsessed main story and the prequel.
What I like to do when I get an idea or inspiration and it is not about what I am working on that moment. Here are my writing tips.
Write it down
This is really important. Never trust your memory. And my memory is damaged from too many extreme sport injuries and other injuries. So I never trust remembering ideas long time. I rather write things down and go back to my written notes when I have more time work with the new idea. Which means a lot of notebooks and even digital notes on my phones. It is just better write it down.
Writing it down also helps you move away from the newidea
Now you can stop thinking about it and even forget it. Because it is safely written down on your notes. Or voice notes how ever you might collect your notes. I love my hundreds of notebooks. But this way you can get your mind faster back to current writing. When no longer need to focus on the new idea. Just forget. No longer need to think about it. Put your focus on what you were doing before the new idea.
More I write down new ideas more new ideas I keephaving
Sometimes I get new idea and after I have written it down. I will be getting more ideas. It helps opening the mind working more new ideas. So sometimes I stop what I’m doing for one new idea and end up 10 new ideas written down. Then going back to writing what I was originally and it is easier writing after the new ideas.
Don’t feel guilty is you end up writing little bit aboutit.
I have done this kicked myself for focusing couple days new idea instead what I was doing. Let it go it will not kill you give hour or two or day for new idea. Write the important things down and move back what you were doing.Getting those important details down. Tt will be so much easier for you to go back and start working on it when you have good base where to start.
Jump theship
So your little writing the notes turned into writing new project. That happens. My 6-part murder mystery romance book series supposed to be a short story. A little writing exercise. Little. When I did hit 200000 words I had to cut my manuscript in half. That is now my very first book series. Back then I was actually fixing timeline other story that was supposed to my first book. Well that didn’t happen. And I was never meant to write this story and now it will be my first published book. Sometimes jumping on the new will lead into something you never planned to write.
Just like Obsessed and it’s prequel was not planned. But I did jump on them. And I’m working on both at the same time. Because they are in same story universium and have same characters only three years apart. So working on both does make sense.
So far this is how I have handled getting inspiration or new ideas at the wrong time. Sometimes I just write short notes other times I jump in the new.
But one important part is the write it down at least a note. You don’t want to lose your brilliant writing ideas. That is the worst mistake one can ever make.Not write down their ideas.
